After the restructuring of Köster AG into a holding, the fishmeal department was transferred into Köster Marine Proteins GmbH as of January 2006.

With more than 80 years of experience in the fishmeal trade Köster Marine Proteins can offer its customers the highest possible reliability in delivering high-quality fishmeals. KMP operates from its headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. The handling of goods, warehousing and reloading into river barges, wagons and lorries takes place in Bremen.

Since 1925 Köster has established a global network to leading producers and consumers as well as ship brokers and agents Europe wide, thus enabling a reliable delivery chain and full traceability.

In 1966 Köster and J. Müller Weser, Bremen, concluded a long-term exclusive cooperation agreement for handling fishmeal. Thus, the largest and most efficient fishmeal terminal in Europe was built on the site of the J. Müller company in the Bremen timber port.
